i would love some info on nova scotia, i'm driving up there next month and i really don't know what to do or see when i get there. my grandparents were from a town called WRECK COVE
Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.
The first place I would start is by going to the following links:
Nova Scotia's Official Tourism Website
Halifax
Destination Southwest Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia Seacoast
As far as Wreck Cove, there is a magazine called Cape Breton (see attached link), and I think this would be an excellent starting point for you to find out information about Wreck Cove, and perhaps people that knew your grandparents.
Cape Breton's Magazine
Best of luck and enjoy your trip.
Bonnie.................Just a word of caution! I took the CAT ferry over from Bar Harbor, ME, and drove around the lower third of Nova Scotia a few years back. Very nearly ran out of gas TWICE and had trouble finding accommodations a few times. Gas, food, and lodging are few and far between, so BE CAREFUL! Everyone who's been there highly recommends The Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island, which is supposedly breath-taking. My two travel companions wanted no part of it, only because of the distance. I'm planning a trip up that way in the fall. If you're into natural phenomena, check out the tides at the Bay of Fundy, but it'll take hours to truly appreciate. Overall.........I was NOT impressed with Nova Scotia. Too much driving, sky high gas prices, vast wastelands between points of interest. Farther north.............may be a horse of a different color. Good luck and enjoy!
