No, Norton Internet Security anything isn't worth your money. Most people buy it because it's familiar and easy to find, but that means it's also familiar to those who write malware. I've seen it beaten time and time again by too many malware programs.
Go with a better program and configure it at its maximum paranoia level. Let it update as often as it likes (which often means pretty much constantly). Don't allow most users in your home or office to change the settings or disable it at all.
I've been using eSet for several years and recommending it to friends and family, and haven't heard of any malware getting past it. Nothing is perfect, but eSet comes pretty close! It's also cheaper than Norton is, and has much better licensing terms for most home users.
