North Korea conducted a nuclear test today, and the world is going crazy. Is there a good reason to worry? Is NK likely to use it? What motivation do they have to do it?
After a bit of reading on the subject back with my studying , I would say that the answer to this question is not that clear like almost every issue in politics. In our modern world today the price of using a nuclear weapon is very high and fatal that's why a country that can't stand a retaliation attack will not use a weapon she can't absorb it's impact. There are people that claim that more and more nuclear weapons in the world will eventually lead to stability like what happened in the cold war. Other people think that ideology is stronger then anything and there will be usage of nuclear weapons when ideology is extreme. In my opinion North Korea is afraid of an American invasion or attack since she is a part of "axis of evil" mentioned in Bush's speech and we all know what happened to other nations on this axis. Therefore in conclusion even though North Korea's regime is considered extreme the test was just an act of power in order to change the Status Quo in the area and to show the US the price she will have to pay if she attacks.
