Non touristic places to see in London

I'm flying to London with my family for 4 nights. It will be our third time there, and we are looking for activities other then the usual museums and popular attractions.

We are interested in seeing some of the less known places in the city, and would like to get some suggestions.

RE: Non touristic places to see in London

Here are some suggestions (if you like to walk)

http://www.walks.com/   I can recommend Richard as a guide (see below)

Do not make my mistake and buy on the first tour a Discount Walkabout Card holders (If you plan a few walks)

Richard - the man with the honeyed voice and the distinctive red hat - has three careers. He's an actor, a professionally qualified Blue Badge Guide, and he restores old houses. Urbane, witty, and charming - he's the perfect host. He brings authority, panache, and an insider's savvy to his walks.

RE: Non touristic places to see in London

I would suggest getting into the hidden city and exploring on a sequence of walks. You can do it yourself by purchasing a guide book such as Frommer's Memorable London Walks or the new AA History and Mystery Walks of London. I also found this site very useful www.walksoflondon.co.uk they have a lot of print off and go walks that you do yourself. Be warned though there are lots of pages so you might want to cut and paste a little!

There are also some excellent guided walks with companys such as www.london-walking-tours.co.uk   or www.jack-the-ripper-tour.com.
