is there anyway to test the fuel sending unit was told gas gauge dosent work with engine off gauge reads about 1/8 below full starting car it goes up to where it looks like it was just topped off i saw 3 wires comming from top of tnk think 1 was purple/1 black/1 gray,i wish i could run a test to make sure the unit was bad and not like just no hot going to unit or possibly broken ground,was tols these ground inside harness if i even knew which ws ground for sure i'd run a wire to frame to check ground,i assume purple may be hot the gray or 3rd wire not sure what it is or for,would hate to spend time /mmoney dropping tank to find out unit is ok just possibly a wiring problem which i wonder about that aspect as this car has alot of rust issues,doens anyone know the best way to run a test so i dont waste time and money and find it's either a bad wire AT the unit or a bad gauge in dash,dont even know how to check the dash gauge either,on SS Disibility and cant afford to be buying new parts for ones that may be good.Please email any ideas to grammyaxe@aol.com thank You SO MUCH .Jim
