Does anyone know of any tests i can run to be positive the gas sending unit is bad or if it's wire problem insteadwhen cars off gauge is about 1/8 below full ,when it's running it gopes over full like it was just topped off,i saw 3 wirecs comming from top of tankl think 1 is purple,the 2nd is blcak,the 3rd is gray,i was told these ground inside the harness i'd love to take a wire and ground it to body to make sure it's not a bad ground.im thinking black is the ground the purple may be hot and the gray i dont know what it would be,i am going to get a 12 volt tester it's pointy you stick it thru coating and if it lights up it's got juice,and if it donet have juice im wondering where to look like if there's a fuse inside or under hood for the fuel snding unoit.and also i dont even knoe how i'd possibly do a tst at the dash board on the gauge itself to see if that's maybe bad.Im on SS Disibility and desperate to make sure it's not the unit dont really have much money to but another esp./if it's a wiring or other problem a waste of time and money dropping the tank Possibly for nothing,this cr does have major rust issue that why i was thinking a possible bad wire somewhere.I'd apprecitat all the help and suggestions on this i could get.Espically since this is daughters new car want a working gas guage dont wnat her to have to estimate amount of gas left and possibly run out.Thank You Jim
