Other way around.

They're recently divorced, and they couldn't force him to stand trial because as the Head of State he's not obligated to stand before a judge.

The French seem to have a totally different attitude to the whole fidelity in matrimony thing. I don't know if I could have lived with that. And yes, she is very very pretty.
