This is very easy to answer: They can start reporting the news instead of becoming the news. They can stop fighting the politicians and just report what they do. The newspapers can create a product that people actually want instead of constantly writing about Stupid Celebrities, Trashy Politicians and Overly Pampered Sports Stars.

They can humble themselves to the fundamentals of thier craft instead of lusting for fame, the "Big Story" and oh yes, more money then they are worth.

I think they will survive but they will change. People still like to hold something in their hands other then a mouse. I think with the new e-paper technology , the new news papers will be thin as a paper but will recive updates and will be able to show videos just like the internet.

I suggest offering information on more techinical subjects, in addition to reporting "news" work at being an educational tool Bring willing young people in contact with issues  that effect them.

a vote of no confidence is one of this countries big problems, due to the last 10 or so years, the arogence of our leaders and the blantant lies or as a news media might put it, untruths! the truth is not in the news paper, you print what the establishment tells you to print.  we are not as stupid as our leaders think we are.

Decent papers will. However, liberal rags like The LA times, the NY Times and the Chicago Tribune are all getting what they deserve! Maybe their high connected liberal supporters will "Bail" themn out? No one wants to advertise in rags no one reads. Conservative papers do not seem to be having their problems. It is just like conservative radio. Advertisers won't support media (Air America) who no one wants to listen too. Conservative radio does not have that problem because people listen to them! That is why the Democrats want to resurrect the UNFAIRNESS DOCTRINE!
