News babe phenomenon

What is with the unbridled news babe phenomenon? Can the glamorization of news broadcasting get any more ridiculous? Do they all come from an eye-candy factory? I'm talking about FOX in particular.

Insanity is doing things the same way and expecting different results.

I have to agree that Fox does have some eye-candy reporters but that's business. Companies will use what sells, and sex sells.

A lot is based on the surveys TV networks do on the "likeability" factor of news anchors and reporters. I think they're called Q Scores. Unfortunately, looks still matter even among viewers which is why all the women look beyond perfect and the men are often eye-candy, as well. I do agree Fox has taken it to a whole new level. I can't tell one female anchor from the other. The stiff hair, piles of makeup and expensive wardrobes--often with short skirts to reveal as much leg as possible sitting or standing--is over the top! I'd like to see a few of them out in the elements covering a hurricane or blizzard to see how well the hair and makeup hold up and if designer parkas really do exist in the news world.
