New 'Kid' on the block in a business

How do you be the new 'kid' on the block in a business?  I have always gone into businesses or organizations to start marketing or PR departments.  I have about 20 years experience.  It never fails that about 3 - 6 months into the work, that I am pulled in by my boss (CEO or President) and have been told I am ruffling too many feathers with the staff.  People don't like the way I am arranging news coverage, how I am emailing, how I am suggesting things, etc.  The list goes on.  I feel that this is often attributed to 'change', the resistence of change within the business/organization.  But would like other opinions on why and what can be done.

Thank you.

I can relate to what you are going through. I agree, quite often it has to do with the natural resistance to change. People get comfortable in the status quo and the thought of having that situation altered many individuals see as personal attack, which doesn't quite make sense but that is how it is very often.  From my personal experience, some people felt threatened by my arrival- being the fresh blood full of ideas and wanting to improve many facets of the business. Especially if these individuals are of a certain rank or position and the possibility that you might question their authority of disprove their strategies and tactics, makes you a big threat.
