My aunt has an old document dated June 14, 1954 from the Claims Office at the Identification and Collections Department, 100 Barr Building, Washington, D.C. Does anyone think this document is worth anything?
I'm not Mr. Know It All, but I did know him and he taught me a lot.
Being only 54 years old it would not be valuable simply because of it's age. Is it a claim as the title implies? If so, is this a letter about a claim your aunt may have already filed and received? Is she did, it's just a letter and nothing of any value. If it was signed by a person who became famous, then maybe a little, but if it's just an old letter, then it's just an old letter. People my age (55) would be rich if everyting from our past was valuable simply because of it's age, and since most of us aren't rich it should be a hint that 54 years isn't a long time.
Thanks for responding Daddio! I didn't think the document would be worth anything either but I promised my aunt that I would look into it just to appease her...she's going through hard financial times.
Thanks again!
