I would look for friendship.  If you get involved with something that you enjoy doing, and start to enjoy yourself more, putting yourself in places where you can make friends, you'll find that you will meet people.  Take everything slowly.  Date people, and be picky.  You'll find your man.  You just need to wait until the right one comes into your life.

     I might be stepping into some scary territory here (being a man) but I just wanted to add to what DB Lady, and joooosh had to say ( 2 thumbs up to both).

    You sound like a beautiful and strong person. With this in mind, you would probably not be satisfied with a good majority of the men 'out there.' I hate to say it, but men have a tendancy to shy away from strong women ( because this scares them). For the most part, they would never admit this. However, that doesn't matter. You will attract the right person to share your life with. Expect nothing less than you would from yourself, and with the above advice, you will be fine. Have confidence and visualize who you want. Feel the energy of this person you are looking for as if he were with you now. This is called 'magnetizing,' and this will help you attract the right guy.

When you are looking for it, it never seems to happen, when your not, it will happen. Its something that you cannot force. Just live your life, and it does depend, where you go and what you do, on what type of person you will meet. I have heard people say the same thing you have, and then they say well, I hang out at the bar. It seems you know what type you want, so put yourself in places where those type of people may be. Church, community activities, or perhaps match.com. I am not a fan of dating sites, but they work for some people. There is somone out there for you, just be patient, and be picky, its worth the wait. No one is perfect, but there are still some good men out there. Good Luck!!
