A:Tennisguy and Texas415 have given good answers. The only thing I can add is that if your insurance company denies your claim, you can file a civil suit against your insurance company under your uninsured motorists policy. What this does is the uninsured motorists policy becomes the other parties insurance provider thus providing costs and damages to you. They will then in turn file suit against the individual who hit you, if you know who they are. Hope this also helps.......
