Hey here is a question On a national election day, how is it possible for votes to be counted in Florda, while people are still voting in Origon.Undecided

That is the reason that the final count takes sometimes another day. You should also remember that there are absentee ballots of Americans living abroad and military and diplomatic personnel. Usually these results are minimal but if the national vote is close enough, these ballots are critical.

The start the count once the votes get to Florida, but they only finish it once ALL voted get to the right place.

It's a rather lengthy procedure.
