I've moved a lot from west to east and back and found that Dr's who are Pain Management and or Anasteologist with a pain practice are your best bet..The crazy fear that those of us who are in chronic pain will abuse our precious few pain pill is ridiculous its the "I got a sprained what ever or a pulled tooth" types they have to worry about..I found my dr online using my insurance and looked for Pain Management Specialist, BUT they can also get too carried away with too many pills, its alway best to not let them give you more than you know you need because they will use that as a probe for "seeker" behavior epically on the on the East C. Also I never underestimate the 1-10 pain level I've learned that if its less than a 7 they don't take you seriously because most of pill seekers will either cry and scream and throw a tantrum or say it's a 5or 6...If you have chronic pain a 5-6 is a good day if you need meds your 8 is a regular persons 50 so its all relative..Also if you have been taking Narcotic pain meds for a while its very dangerous to stop suddenly you can have organ failure so go to the urgent care or ER let them know you need temporary refill on your meds and ask them for a referral to a PM if they refuse remind them that right in the bottle of all NP pill it states DO NOT STOP TAKING Suddenly WO dr supervision..and that you will hold them accountable for any problems that may arise but be kind and firm make sure they know that you know yous rights and always call your old Dr to let them know you'll be going and to expect a call from them..
I really hope I helps you till you can get to a Dr
