Need guidance about career path

Hello, I have been at home for quite a long time. I quit my career long ago because of family pressures. I have a graduate's degree.   Now, I do feel like getting back in the job market.  I want to start a business or take up some job that will not take too much of my time.  My interests are medical transcriptionist, small scale industry, book/writing/teaching, and social service.  I don't mind taking up some course to learn more about my area of interests but I can't afford investing a lot of money in to learning.  Moreover, I don't know how to go about it.  Any guidance will be helpful.  Is there any work that I can do from home itself for the time being?

Hi witty,

Though this is a problem most "Stay at home" parents face in some point  - I can honestly say that you've made the first step - deciding this is something you are willing to do...It's not as trivial as it sounds.

Maybe you could register to Kasamba and offer your expert services online and start by asking 1$ a minute for advice... www.kasamba.com

Another option is trying to open a website by using the "wordpress" platform - www.wordpress.com

Also you can try to improve your answering skills by using  one of the various "answers" sites like www.answers.com  answers.yahoo.com

I can offer some more help...

Best of luck,

Boaz.

I would suggest posting online (for example, on craigslist.org - depending on the city you live in) that you are looking for a transcriptionist position (that's a position that can be done from home). Or sending your resume out to some local law or medical offices offering your services.
