All of these groups that you stated are minorities, and I think that these minorities tend to be more open-minded and liberal, as opposed to traditional.  Each of these groups/religions also have specific needs that I think throughout history have been more accepted by democrats.  I think that a common understanding of the republican party is that they are closed-minded, not open to new ideas, and that they need to be white and protestant.
