National Geographic frequent commercial break

Why does the National Geographic channel take a commercial break every 15 minutes, just to advertise other self broadcast programs?. I understand that other channels take frequent commercial breaks, advertise products, and make money out of it. But NG, why should they break so frequent?

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,

Let's start by asking a more basic question: why do they broadcast at all ? The answer is: They believe that by showing nice nature movies peole will buy their products.  By inceasing the number of people who watch their beautiful movies they increase their sales.  Once they run a show / movie they have to be considerative and give us some breaks to: talk, drink, eat, toilet, phone.......  The promos are to teeze us and make us to watch their next movies.
Best regards,
