I think that this unfortunate inccedent, shows that even with the smallest head injury, the outcome can be tragic.

I beleive that the safety patrol personell did the right thing by staying with her. I don't think that anyone could have really done anything to prevent the sad outcome.

My heart truely goes out to the family.

This is a very sad day and I was shocked at the way this medical situation was handled from the get-go--I understand from reading several article's about Natasha's death that there was no CT or MRI done at the Canadian hospital--WHY NOT would be my question--sounds like there may be a huge law suit over this one! She might have been saved if there had been more knowledgeable staff and concern on their parts!  I am so sorry for Liam Neeson, Vanessa Redgrave, their two sons and Natasha's sister--they are in thoughts and prayers!  I prayed for a miracle but that did not happen.  Cry

It seems to me, since I am a skier myself, that maybe she had a problem that she wasn't aware of. They may find something when they finish the atopsy. I took lessons too, and fell and threw myself so many times, with no helmet, and nothing except bruises. It is so sad, and I can't imagine that could have caused her death.

I'm totally freaked out by this. My kids have hit their heads so much, but if they seem fine then I don't worry about it. This shows me that even the slightest fall could be deadly. I'm going to be extremely paranoid from now on. That's good and bad, I guess.

I think it is just tragic, and so unfortunate. It should make us all aware of the need to go for medical help if we smack our heads, no matter how we think we feel right after the incident. I will certainly be sure to do that in future, because I too never gave it a thought in the past. And, all skiers should wear helmets, regardless of level  of skill. It is not about blame here, just an unfortunate wake up call for everyone that comes, sadly, at the expense of a beautiful, talented and vital young woman. At least let this tragedy spare others from the anguish of such a devasting loss. There are no words to express the sadness I feel for her entire family.

I could care less. Bikers wear helmets, roller bladers wear guards, etc., etc, I've skied and wearing a helmet is pretty standard. They arent pretty but then again they are safe.
