I believe narration  is telling the story.  Exposition is exposing some of what you write so that the reader is in the know about something that they otherwise would have no clue about what is going on.  Simple exposition is best.  Check out this site and it explains it clearly.

Exposition is part of the narrative.  Exposition is how you create background or depth of a character.  It describes, but doesn't necessarily move the story along, though it can if the writer is good enough.

Usually the first part of a story will contain the exposition, introducing characters, places and situations to the reader.  It ceases fairly soon in most stories, but there are always exceptions to everything.
