Depends on the tatoo, Most modern tats are fine but some amateur tats, including prison tats can react in an mri.

Need Help Interpreting MRI Report

I finally went back to the surgeon last week and he ordered an MRI. This morning he reviewed the MRI results... talk with big words that I've never heard of.
