You call an insurance company and buy the coverage you need...

Some moving companies have insurance of their own, but they have to show proof of the real value of the property they move, so have the necessary documentation.

Here's one company, but there are many, so you'd better do some shopping before commiting.

If you are moving from residence A to residence B using only your resources and not that of a professional moving company, AND you currently have homeowner's insurance, you present homeowners insurance should cover your belongings during the move and set up. Afterwhich you need to obtain local insurance because homeowners insurance is address specific. If there is a professional company involved, they should have cargo insurance and load and unload insurance to cover your goods; purchase it it is cheap compared to a loss in transit. Discuss if their insurance has a deductible for losses. What is the deductible for your homeonwers, you may want to lower it if it is $1000 to $250; if the company will permit this. You goods insured under a Personal Articles Floater or PAF are insured world wide.
