How can i take a desktop pc abroad when flying in a plane?
I still have the original packaging, but do I just put it as baggage?
In the United States, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) advises people not to pack electronics in checked baggage. I'm not sure what the Israeli government would say in that situation -- but I suspect that it would advise the same thing.
El Al notes that air cargo is a possibility for many items that are prohibited from passenger baggage. So I recommend that you contact an air cargo shipper.
The TSA page I've cited is here; while the El Al page is here.
While rules and regulations vary between governments and airlines, and TSA policy is slightly ambiguous with respect to desktop computers, I have a suggestion that that may cost about the same as air cargo, but will provide a bit more peace of mind.
Assuming there's someone in the country you're going to that you can trust, give some thought to shipping it via UPS or FedEx. Address it yourself "in care of" the name of the person you're sending it to.
The biggest advantage(s) to this method, is that you can track the progress of your "shipment" on the website of the company in question.
make sure you use right kind of packaging boxes .
