NJ My Dad died 3/06. His will has been in probate since '06! The atty who drew up his will was not doing his job. So I chose a new atty. The 2nd atty was taking on both the estates of my Dad, and my Mom [DOD 11/08]. My Mom's will is in probate too. Both of these attorneys screwed me. The 1st one never kept a billing record based on the retainer my Dad pd him in 11/05. He's guilty of other widesread discrepencies. He has filed professional & personal bankruptcy. The 2nd atty claims she has developed a chronic illness and may not be able to finish out my case. Her paralegal lost paperwork, and lies about having documents on file & such that I've already handed off to her for copying/filing in my case file. The atty spent more time writing me, her client, punitive letters than to opposing counsel; specifically my estranged sister's atty. Prior to my parents passing, I was POA & medical rep for each of them.I was primary caretaker, as well as being Mom's court appointed Guardian. Then executrix of Dad's estate. An administra-trix has not been appointed for the handling of my Mom's estate; however, I am still expected, by my atty, to handle certain aspects of this debacle that the law office should be following thru on! That's what they're getting pd for! There are over $20K in outstanding bills, some of which I am stipulated as the 'responsible party'. Some r in collections and/or handed over to the legal dept. I am physically & mentally exhausted, my health is suffering, and my sister did/does nothing but cherry pick whenever she & her atty have received correspondence from my 'former atty=2nd one. I have already contacted a 3rd atty who I was referred to by a dear friend who is also a lawyer. Have any of u ever been in a situation like this? I welsome any feedback, advise...TY, Mermaid7
