The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a comedy/scifi film, based on a book series of the same name. Within the first ten minutes of the film, the earth is destroyed to make way for a hyperspace bypass. Arthur Dent, the hapless protagonist is saved from this by Ford Perfect, an alien from somewhere around Betelgeuse, and is now stuck traveling around the universe in a bath robe and pajamas. He ends up being jettisoned from a Vogon ship, and picked up by the Heart Of Gold, a space ship powered by the Infinite Improbability Drive, on a quest for the ultimate question. (They already know the answer, it's 42)
I feel this movie relates to my Yedda experience, because I ended up here by complete random, do to my Stumble Upon tool bar. So I decided to ask a personal question(Shadow), and I got a few very helpful responses, and met some very insightful people (Skith, Njoy, even you jkgrandma, etc). And you just seemed to accept it, you didn't think I was mad, or turn me away. And it was strange because now, I had this little group of people who knew something I always kept very close to me, and I didn't feel so odd, but this is all new territory for me, people knowing about shadow and not thinking I was crazy, even bringing him up in conversation! It threw me off balance, a bit like waking up to find your dining table has been taped to the roof, but it felt good to get it all of my chest and not be harshly judged for it. So like the movie I feel a little like I've been thrown into the universe in my pajamas, but it's kind of a good feeling.
