I have a metallc taste in my mouth and my doc put me on Zegerid 3 days ago. The taste is still there. Does anyone know anything about ths taste and how long it will take for the medication to work?

Zegerid is an ulcer/heartburn medication that should actually work within 24 hours of taking it. If the taste is really bothering you, I'd suggest contacting your doctor to let him know. Maybe he can put you on a different medication.

Thank you for the advice. I did call my doc and they are sending me to a specialist. The taste is still here and it's been nearly 2 weeks! They left me on the Zegerid but I don't think it's working either. Hopefully something will. Thanks again, Maidy

The specialist told me I have Burning Mouth Syndrome. They don't know what causes it but they put me on Klonapin and it works! Just glad to have that taste gone!
