Mountian Oysters

What is the best way to cook Mountian Oysters? I normaly peel them, then slice them into thin slices, dip them into buttermilk and then into some seasoned flour. Then I deep fry them till golden brown. Is there another way to do this, and I have thought about tring to grill them. any thoughts?

I have always cooked them the same way you do. I would be afraid that they would be tough and dry if you sauted or grilled  them. Hope you get more answers. I will be interested in what others feel.
