Mother/daughter relationship

My 29 year old daughter had to move back home because she lost her job and is currently applying.Since we share a bathroom, I've noticed she hasn't had a period since she returned home 2 months ago. I know she isn't pregnant. Should I even question her about it? She is very forgetful when it comes to doing the things she should----paying bills, even opening her bills, washing her hair infrequently, mailing letters she has taken the time to write, returning calls from her Godmother. I've always thought she has adult Attention Deficit Disorder. I just don't know how to approach her on these matters. I'm afraid she will get on the defensive. If I say nothing, all I do is worry about all these things. She's very caught up with her friends and social life. So she's not depressed. Any help I can get would be appreciated.

Sometimes we put up walls not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down.

I would wonder whether she might be on a birth-control pill.  Some of them will only bring periods once or twice a year.  I think I probably wouldn't worry about it or mention it to her.   As for her having ADD, it could merely be that she is a procrastinator.  There are many of us out here. LOL

The road to nowhere is paved with good intentions.

Hi Ann. I can appreciate your concern for your daughter, she's yours, and there's nothing wrong with mentioning a few things you've noticed she might want to pay more attention to... paying bills on time (for a good credit score), returning calls out of common courtesy, etc... and if you're curious about her period, ask her why she doesn't have one! Wouldn't we all like to know about modern medicine!

Just don't hound her. She will only be at your place for awhile. Approach everything you do and say to her in a way of creating a good memory of the time she had to move home for awhile. You'll be glad you did.

I am 32 and was on birth control. Once i stopped taking them, I didn't have a period for 4 months. I think her period is just delayed. I would'nt be too concern with it. As for ADD, my son was on medication for his ADD. It helped him focus a lot better. I saw a big improvement in his grades. They also sell natural herbs that can help her instead of medication for her ADD. Go to your nearest herbal shop.
