Mosquitos and pets

I have a serious mosquito problem. I need to know a safe and very effective way to get rid of this problem, WITHOUT, harmful effects for me or my pets.

Have you tried using a plug-in mosquito zapper for your home?

Look around your property/ yard. Do you have any standing water? Dump out any buckets, tires, anything that can hold water.

If you have something that can't be dumped that is fresh water, like an old pond or some such, put a few goldfish in it. They will eat the larvae and reduce your population.

You can also start feeding garlic to you and your pets. The garlic is supposed to keep away pests and also helps the body in good ways.

You do not want the low odor stuff, it does not work near as well.

If you have birds, they are VERY sensitive to bug spray, you need to change your clothes and shower before coming into contact with a pet bird after using a product applied to the shin that repels insects.

Hope this helps you some!

I too have a mosquito problem - if there is only one it will find me.  Try "Skin So Soft" by Avon - really works. Just rub on exposed areas.
