Does sound like Morton's Neuroma. A bundle of overgrown nerve fibers that grow to a small lump between the bones of the foot. Usually causes pins and needles and pain down the side of the toes.

An injection can be useful if done by an experienced doctor.
Surgery is not usually needed but brings quite a high success rate.
The diagnosis can be confirmed by an ultrasound scan of the affected area.
