The best exercize for the heart is to bend over and help someone that is down.

Mortgage co. refuses to help -even take a full payment split in half.....

Where or to whom may we turn to for help??? My husband has cancer. He is in treatment. I am his sole caretaker. Our mortgage co., Aurora in Colorado told us they could not help us with ANYTHING since we were current at the time..........they said we must be 90 days past due before we would be eligible for any assistance.  We offered to pay 1/2 of the payment at the first of the month and 1/2 at the end.  They refused us.

They would not take the payment's being split!!!!!!!!!! Now, at 90 days, we applied as they told us to-----for help--------from them- NOW, THEY tell us we do not qualify for any of their program's!  What is this company- a "stomp someone in the ground" and take their property??????????

My husband and I have been in the banking/mortgage business for 30 years each.  I have never heard of anything like this!!!!!!

Please give us some direction.  We are under so much pressure with my husband going back on chemo this Wednesday. Thank you.

M/Mrs. David T. Tarbox

38 thumbs up

try your local political figure for your district, get them involved on your side. also, most news shows or newspapers have someone who helps 'the little guy', try contacting your local news. they may take your case on and apply pressure through publicity

4 thumbs up

Have you tried to negotiate new terms on your loan with them (loan mod.)  You also have to be late, but hey.  I actually work for a company that does loan modifications, and have been in the mortgage industry for over 8yrs.  The difference between doing it yourself and with my company, is that we have a team of real estate attornies and paralegals that are involved in the process.  We get great results that way.  Send me an email (andrew@affordablehomeassistance.com), maybe I can help you guys out.  Good luck...

Andrew, thank you for your time.  Yes, I will contact you Tuesday, (tomorrow), or David may since he has the full saga,   To answer you, yes, we asked for a modification. We were told if anyone called to inform then this was being handled by the "hardship dept.".  Well, we received a call this past Thurs. informing us -via the collection depat. they had an email from the "hardship dept."/mod. dept. that we DID NOT QUALIFY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   They have wasted valuable time and have placed my husband and myself under undue duress!!!!!!!!!  David is back in chemo again starting this last Friday.

Our mortgage was up to date. We are mortgage bankers.
We've had our own mortgage contract business for the last twelve years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Honest, good people always attempting to help others.

This is an OUTRAGE! It's UNETHEICAL AND JUST DOWN RIGHT SORRY!!!!!!!!!!

Andew, if you can't help, I will go to Congress with this, the FDIC, whom I have spoken to already in DC, the FBI at one of their fraud center's..........and, somethig will be done.  In times like these this is not good representation iof what our country was founded on.

I could see if we just DIDN'T want to do anything!!!!!!!!!  We have take the route that is customary, followed through, keep record's, and all to no avail.  To keep someone as ill as my husband this upset about our home............when he is facing uncertainy is a shame, disgrace to the entire mortgage industry and I am ashamed to have been in this field for 25 years.

Thank you for answering.  I have prayed all day and now tonight, here is a response from you. :)
