Mooney aircraft trouble shooting

mooney aircraft trouble shooting.

Went out to fly my 1968 Mooney M20c Ranger today, a great day. Got off the ground, my Turn and slip went down to a 30 degree left turn, and the aircraft tried to follow, I had the PC button mashed on the yoke, but still the plane loaded up and tried to fly left. Mashing the button on the yoke did not release the Mooney PC (wings leveling) and is was like trying to fly against the auto-pilot, whats wrong is my turn and slip co-ord bad? or ??

Help needed from any Mooney owner.

Definetly sa problem with the turn coodinator, but it should have disengaged when you pushed the button. I used to just lift the button out when I flew a Mooney, that way it stayed disengaged.(Not recommended for the average pilot, you totally lose the safety feature that way) You might try lifting the button out and see if that will stop it trying to turn.

Next is to take the turn coordinator to a shop and have it checked. Check all the circuit breakers first though.
