If he is homosexual and believes there is no sin in his homosexuality then fine, that is entirely his affair. The problem is that the religion he upholds teaches that homosexuality is wrong. His hypocrisy is the problem, not his homosexuality. How are people to take his religion seriously when he himself does not accept and uphold this teaching? If he had had the decency to renounce his religion and live true to himself, he would have done himself and the Church a favour. How could the Catholic Church not dismiss him; what with the embarrassment of child abusing priests still reverberating? It is about damage limitation.
