Why do Monks Brawl in Christ Tomb?

Did you hear about the brawl between monks in the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem (that is, the Church of the Holy Tomb of Jesus Christ).

Does anyone know what they were fighting about?

Wouldn't it make more sens if monks refrained from fighting in such a holy place?

There is only one Church of the Holy Sepulchre and it is recognized as holy by a number of Christian religions: Greek Orthodox, Abyssinian, Armenian and Coptic. Each, however, have their own rituals. When celebrating their rituals the religions clash over the same holy places within the church. There have been agreements in the past but when celebrations overlap there is conflict breaks out. This also occurs when repairs must be made and the church owning the area where the epairs must be done will not permit them for fear that they will be forced to temporarily relinquish ownership and another church will take over. Christian Protestants do not get involved since they hold that Jesus was buried and rose from the Garden Tomb.

When you need something done right, get a woman to do it

It's a power struggle. Every religios sect wants a piece of this holy land, so whenever one section does anything, all the other wants a part of it too.

And yeah, they should have known better than to start such a disgusting fight there...

To say nothing, especially when speaking, is half the art of diplomacy.

I used to be a tour guide in Israel. I would always bring a map of the Holy Sepulchre with me to show tourists how complicated things can sometimes get here. If you look at this web site: http://www.sacred-destinations.com/israel/jerusalem-church-of-holy-sepulchre-floor-plan.htm you will understand what happened a few days ago, and why it can happen again.

Be Blessed.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.

Noah,

It would make more sense if they refrained from fighting at all. Jesus represented peace. He told us in Matthew 5:16 to let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. How can they say they represent Jesus, when Jesus represented peace? How does that look to the outside world. How does that look to a person struggling with their soul? How many sinners will this kind of activity draw in? They are suppose to be good stewards over the work that God gave them to do. How many souls did they turn away from the church that day? I truly pray for them.

Be Blessed.

Identifying Christians, How?

(2 Timothy 2:14-17) . . .Keep reminding them of these things, charging them before God as witness, not to fight about words, a thing of no usefulness at all because it overturns those listening. 15 Do your utmost to present yourself approved to God, a workman with nothing to be ashamed of, handling the word of the truth aright. 16 But shun empty speeches that violate what is holy; for they will advance to more and more ungodliness, 17 and their word will spread like gangrene. . .

I FOUND THESE TWO SCRIPTURES THAT GODS WORD - THE HOLY BIBLE, GIVES THOSE WHO CLAIM TO FOLLOW CHRIST JESUS ( 1 PETER 2:21 ).
I HAVE ONLY FOUND ONE GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO TRULY DO FOLLOW THE BIBLES TEACHING....SOME CALL THEM JW'S, OTHERS KNOW THEM AS JEHOVAH WITNESSES, THEY HAVE FOLLOWERS WHO ARE ARMENIAN AND GREEK AND MANY OTHER NATIONALITIES THAT LIVE IN PEACE AND LOVE - THEY ARE UNITED.
THEY PRACTICE THIS SCRIPTURE - JOHN 13:34,35.
Thanks for reading, I hope this helps explain.
