I was late for work this morning, because I got stuck in Zeno's paradox.

Money makes the world go around

It seems that Sunny Von Bulow has died. I remember the huge scandal from the 80's when her husband was accused of murdering her (for those who do not remember, you can read about it here ).

At the time, everbody used her as an example of "money can't buy happiness" or "money can't buy love". But I tend to disagree. I think that a large enough amount of money actually can make a person happy.

What do you think? How much money would it take to make you happy? What would you be prepared to do or endure to get this money?

Loyalty is the costliest virtue that exists: it includes your life.  Disloyalty is the costliest vice that exists: it includes your soul.

I hate to rattle you awake, Mack, but it really is true that money cannot buy you happiness.

Poverty, on the other hand, is just plain misery.

The idea is to be content with what you have.  Look more at people than money: you can't take money with you but the person you live with will be with you forever.

Old Klaus von Bulow found that out the hard way, didn't he?

Money can only buy you a hit or a high of happiness, but it doesn't mean that it will always last. True happiness is being content with your life as a whole. Who you have, what you have, where you live ... In my opinion, it is quality over quantity, and as long as there is a roof over my head and warm hearts for me to share it with, I am happier than I could ever ask to be.

Yeah, Yeah, money can't buy happiness, and the best things in life are free and all that... It may be a materialistic attitude but still, I think that if I had more money I would be happier. I wouldn't have so many worries, I wouldn't have to work so hard, I would be able to afford all the luxuries I deny myself. And if I have a choice between being sick and poor or sick and rich I'd prefer to be sick and rich.

I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.

As a type 1 diabetic I remember this story all too well. I can only add that the Von Bulow family should put some of their money into helping to find a cure for diabetes.

I don't think I need anything for myself, but if I had about 5 million euro I would have a wonderful time passing it on to people who could really use it. An amount that seems small to us can be life changing to others.

Of course money would help my life be less stressful but it does not solve all lifes problems. I might not be rich but I am happy. I would rather just make it by and know that I am doin it on my own then have everything handed down to me. I can be proud of myself knowing I am Earning my money. Money makes the world go round but having love is what holds it together. I could have all the money in the world but if I had no one to share it with whats the point. Money does not make the person you are You are the only one that has the power to make life what you want.

If I am remembering correctly, Sunny wasn't actually diabetic.  She was using insulin as a strange method of controlling her weight.  I will have to look that up again.  As for the Type 1, I highly recommend getting a pancreas transplant. YeeeeeHaaaaaa!!!
