Could you give me more specifics on the plastic bottle in the toilet tank to save water usage? Do I use a drinking water bottle? Cap on, cap off, etc? How does it save 10 gallons a day? Thanks a bunch for all your tips.
The bottle needs to be filled with water so it sinks. The amount of water you save with each flush will be exactly the amount of water in your bottle. The bigger the bottle, the more water saved. Don't use a bottle so big that the flushing becomes inadequate. Of course the bottle must be capped.
I hope this answers your questions.
P.S. It doesn't matter what the bottle is made of.
