Why didn't the big "o" oprah ever have so much concern for a presidental cndidate and then eventually president of the united states until obama. And when was she ever soooo cozy with a first lady than the big "m" michelle. Really did anyone recognize this peculiar happening. Because i can't remember her taking such loving pics with barbara bush or even nancy reagan. Set your priorities straight "o" mmm i wonder why????????
THAT WHICH DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER.
Bull. Reality is, it will usually hurt like hell and leave you with a permanent limp.
Mmmmmm ! Do you reckon it might be that Barbara Bush and Nancy Reagan wouldn't have considered it ? Do you reckon that they might not want to "sully" themselves by appearing with people "obviously" beneath them ? Did it occur to you that what they believe might be diametrically opposed to what Oprah believes ? Naw, couldn't have been - Nancy and Babs were both such open, warm, down-to-earth common folks with such liberal ideals. SO, mmmmmm I wonder why ????????????
If people fear the goverment, that's tyranny; if the government fears the people, that's liberty...Thomas Jefferson
Pretty obvious isn't it? I don't really blame her though. Obama represents something that minority blacks thought would never happen in their lifetimes. Reverse the role and put yourself in generations of blacks who felt they occupied second place citizenry. This is a milestone for their culture. I also believe that many want him to succeed so much that they are willing to ignore his blatant failings, like a dysfunctional co-dependent relationship. I am proud of our nation for what they have done, historically. In contrast, I am not proud, (as any intelligent responsible black should feel) of the results of this obvious hypocrite. The sad thing is that the abominable performance of this guy may taint the American people that may generalize this into condeming any future minority candidate. That would be sad.

tyrebitre, in fact, Oprah has had both Laura and Barbara Bush on her show and has been invited to the White House. She supported the causes of education and reading promoted by both former first ladies. Oprah certainly will feel more kinship with the Obama's, this is natural.
You are blaming the Bush's for being elitists, oh, contrar mon ami. Oprah feels as though she was responsible for electing Obama. He is beholding to her and she is much, much richer than they (and the Bush's for that matter). They have absolutely nothing in common except race but she is strategically using him to further her own causes. There is a bucket proposition. It goes like this; if you have a bucket of crabs it is inevitable that some will try to climb out. If you watch carefully as one attempts to climb out the others pull him back in with them. This is the black culture in general. Obama was created and is controlled by people like Oprah and other wealthy sympathizers that are taking control of our country; pure and simple. Oprah supports Obama because he is black, period. His policies will be black culture biased. He uses race as one of his strategies. He down- played his 50% white racial background because he would have been selling out to "his peeps". He would be trying to crawl out of that bucket.
Ironically, all the civil rights, voting rights, fairness doctrines and equal rights rulings and laws are there predominately due to white men. I don't recall any of them running on a white man platform. On the contrary, Obama ran as a black candidate. Someday we may actually have a President from a minority background that is fair to all, but Obama ain't it!
Maybe because Oprah didn't agree with the politics of neoconservatism and, in terms of George W. Bush whom you neglected to mention, radical Christian fundamentalism? Your innuendo implies a racial bias, and if that's correct, what's your proof?
I'm very skeptical of optimists and pessimists
Oh gee I don't know could it be he's half black? There somebody said it move on. Nothing will change. We need to focus on the green being printed and no one seems to know where it went.
I became aware of my destiny, to belong to the critical minority as opposed to the unquestioning majority
