Milo Ventimiglia

I recently read that Milo Ventimiglia is vegetarian, and I must say that he has great body. Isn't it necessary to eat meat in order to keep fit?

Nope, as long as you get your main proteins in your diet then you're good to go!

No, I believe it is neccessary to eat protien, that you mostly get from meat. There are however other ways of getting protien. Meat in my opinion would be a hard thing to give up if you are a custom to eating it. Good luck, J

Meat is not necessary to get protein, but it is hard to get enough B12 without it. But you can eat only healthful meats and fish. Humans are omnivours so be careful about proper nutrients when going vegetarian. To become a vegetarian means you must become an expert on nutritional values of foods to remain healthy.

There isn't really a problem with vegetarian diets so long as you consume dairy products. Soybean use as a substitute protein is not good in large amounts. Soy contains Phyto estrogens which are used by menapausal women in estrogen replacement therapies. Soybean use in young children can retard the testosterone surge in male babies that puts the imprint on their developing brains. It is also proven to cause female children to start puberty quite early. So if you are a menapausal women then soybeans are ok. But not for men, or young children. Dairy contains protein, and there are also a lot of other good useful sources for protein that are not meat. They just aren't as inexpensive as soybeans.
