What are the options for a military wife when her husband is in Korea,he transfers a $600 allotment to her monthly, but then takes it back, has his mother handle all his affairs including bank account, takes the insurance off the car she drives, turns her phone off, and threatens her.
unless the mother has power of attorney i don't think she can legally do that. usually insurance and phone companies will only talk to the person listed on the account. if her name isn't on the account i would contact them and find out why they were able to do that. i hope everything works out. my husband was in iraq so i know it's hard to deal with everything.
you are the wife and he doesnt trust you or he still a mommas boy.divorce him and take what you can.thats what he is doing thru his mother.

He has a very strange behaviour, if he loves you he can't send you a paltry $600 when he is full time employment and to make things worse he takes it back. You are his wife so you should handle bank account affairs and other affairs not his mother. His Mum with due respect to her should be given other roles that don't conflict with yours. Turning off your phone and the threats are out of this world. If he loves you he should make a complete u-turn on these issues, otherwise let him find another woman or tell you the truth if he has another woman. No man in love with his wife can treat his wife that way.
You never say hello to you until you get it on the redline, overload. You never know what you can do until you try.

In all my thirty years of military service, I have never seen that happen. It is sympathetic byt military regulations absolutely forbid and prevent anything like that from ever happening. Even if he is gone for a full year, she and the kids will have dependent services, base housing, education, and full medical.
His allotment of $600.00/month seems about right, but all the services meet that allotment 4-1, which means that she will get at least $3,000.00/mo, plus allowances for each child and over-age dependent.
However, if SHE files for divorce while HE is away, Base Legal will advise her before they proceed that by so doing, she will revoke ALL those benefits.
It happened too many times to stomach while I was on active duty, so pardon me if I say, "Tell it to the Marines." That's because I am a Marine.
You should speak to someone in Family Advocacy about this, especially the threats he's making. He is required to support his family. If you have children, he can be forced to provide for them and for you. Beyond that, and this is just my opinion, you should get yourself a job, if you don't work already. You should start working on your education and job training. You should leave this man. His treatment of you is abusive.
