Miley Cyrus as a role model

Our daughters really want to see the Hannah Montana movie. But we're worried about Miley Cyrus as a teen idol, like Jamie Lynn Spears. What's your advice?

Well Miley Cyrus has a good family as well as backround. Miley Cyrus has been around sometime now and nothing suggestive has occured. Miley Cyrus has really cares about her fans so hopefully she wouldnt do anything suggestive. Miley Cyrus is an average teenage girl that engages in an average teenage life. (except for her being a pop star) Also Jamie lynn spears is not a bad role model she is known as the responsible one. A photo was taken of her holding a book entitled GED, also she is taking mother classes. So i think Miley Cyrus is a great role model.

Miley Cyrus is nice. She's a perfect role model for your kids... Lots of people who went to her concert didn't regret a bit!

No pop star is a good or bad role model if you teach your daughter to be independant, strong minded, and stronged willed. Entertainers are only entertainers and only people, they have flaws and while she apears to be fine now, the vast majority of child celebrity will eventually end up messed up in some way or another, because it's not a normal or helthy environment for a child. I say say let her enjoy healthy entertainment, but don't let her idealize anyone, except the person(s) or thing(s) in whatever you religion may be.

I don't think you should decide whether to go to this movie or not on the basis Miley Cyrus. As a parent it's your job to educate your children in a way that they'll be able to take the good and the bad from life. That means being able to admire certain things about stars and also being able to say that the celebrity's behavior is inappropriate when it comes to other issues. This is a lesson that needs to be learned early on in life and I think it can help avoid trouble later on.
