Mikuni carb.

i have a 1987 suzuki gs450L. the fuel shut off valve has 3 settings. 1-straight down for fuel on, at 9 oclock position for reserve and at 3 oclock  for PRI. what does PRI stand for and when is it used?? the gas tank drained down into the crankcase with valve in the PRI position. why did this happen??

primary is Pri stands for its the primary tank on the bike.
