A:

Migraines can be triggered by foods containing caffeine, red wine, food containing nitrates such as bacon, hot dogs and salami. Also some odors, perfumes and cleaning products. Cigarettes can be another factor for migraines, as well as changes in sleep patterns, loud noises and bright lights.

People prone to migraines should avoid these factors and reduce their caffeine and alcohol intake. Usually a few aspirins or other pain relievers will eventually work and stop the pain.
