Mid-90s volvos

I've been driving a 1988 Volvo 740 for the last 4 years and I love it. Recently I saw that I can get a more modern Volvo (from around 1994-1995) for rediculously low prices. I'm thinking about getting a 940, 960 or maybe an 850. I've heard that the 960 is not very reliable (with the 3-liter engine at least). What do you say? Which one should I get?

The 940 is not much more modern than the 740, so take that into account.  The 960 is much more modern (rear suspension, especially), but it has lousy electronics. I've heard reporst about problems with the electronics in the 850 as well, but it's much more modern than the others. It's also FWD. I'd go for it, or stay with the 740, frankly.
