Microsoft/aQuantive deal

There's a lot of criticism on the web about the Microsoft/aQuantive deal (here's one example, a good one IMO). I'm trying to find convincing arguments in favor of the deal and I didn't find good ones yet. What are the supporters of the deal say? This deal just seems to be a bit irrational.

According to one analyst, aQuantive is doing quite well, and is now a leader in online advertising. Microsoft can benefit from ads in many places. That may make this acquisition a good deal. (The Motley Fool: Microsoft Wins One)

On the other hand, another analyst on the same site criticizes the deal. (The Motley Fool: Microsoft Loses Control)
