Microsoft SP1 for Vista

Microsoft finally released the first SP for Vista.

Why aren't they forsaking this project? Is it that they can afford another Windows ME on their hands? Can they afford not to bury Vista?

1. Yes, MS can afford to screw with us. Easily. They've been doing it for years. There are some very smart and wonderful MS Fellows, but the MS business plan doesn't care if Vista has some flaws.

2. Vista and VistaSP1 are both new. I personally use Vista, but I'm an advanced computer user who knows a lot of workarounds. I really would rather use Ubuntu OS but this is a business laptop. SP1 fixes a lot of mistakes in the origional Vista. A lot of people dont like vista beacause they used it as beta before it was even on sale. Vista does have some strange attributes, but they are being ironed out pretty fast. XP wasnt any better!

 3. WinME was pretty buggy, but Vista is nothing like ME. Vista is the worlds most advanced OS, and it does a lot of very complex things that we take advantage of and only complain when they aren't working right. If you want simple and fast, go back to Windows98. :P

Personally, I hope to install Ubuntu on my Sony Playstation3 very soon.

SP1 is not even out yet on Windows Update, apparently. It will be mid next month. I'm using it on my gaming PC and I really like the performance improvements. I thought I might give an update. It does ask you to re-activate windows once you install, but it gives you 30 days to try it out. So far I'm not sure how to override the trial timer, but that's fine because I have the official key somewhere or other...we all will eventually when Vista is more common place. I have a bizillion XP keys I've purchased over time.
