Will Mickey clean himself up?

Will a near miss at the Oscars make Mickey Rourke clean himself up?  Should he have more plastic surgery to fix his face or will it only make things worse?

Give the guy a break. Do you remember what he looked like in those mug shots? He's come a long way from being in the gutter to almost winning an Oscar.

No he won't. And it might get him more down to Earth roles in Hollywood, since everyone is going "Reality Television" now.  I see Hollywood movie producers trying to tap that market with actors who have let their polish veneers, external or internal take on pivotal roles.   With the new administration in Washington and diversity goals abound.  American moviegoers may wanna see the down and ugly in lower middle class America and upper class fallouts!  Just a feeling I have.

To be honest, I think Mickey Rourke looked very nice at the Oscars last night. I don't think that he needs anymore plastic surgery, nor does he need to 'clean himself up'. His movie The Wrestler was excellent, and I hope that it is only the beginning of his comeback career!

I called this new paradigm in the moviegoer movement called the Flava Flav effect.   A human being gets so doggard, haggard and totally repugnant in mainstream society that they become so ugly that they become a cute oddity and even sought after by directors and producers to spin their projects on primetime and the Sundance Music Festival.   Remember, the old Ugly Duckling story or Princess and the Frog, Beauty and Beast, King Kong, Godzilla, etc all that is part of this.

I remember him from 9 1/2 weeks with Kim Bassinger and he was so sexy, he had so much going for him and then everything went wrong.  It is true that Hollywood needs some rugged actors but it is the fakeness of his face that i find weird, if he had aged naturally he would probably look a lot better right now.

I think Mickey thinks he is cleaned up. About more plastic surgery..G-d no...he already looks scary.
