"AsK  God To Save The USA  This Country  From Distruction   That   Two  Pathethic  Polictal  Parties  Have  Almost Destroyed  Meaning  Republicans And Democracts"

Mental Health Illness Striking More Younger People Than Older People

Why  is  it in the  last  5 years  that  mental health  illnesses , have increased in  younger people ranging from age 13 to age 20?

I'm   age 41  , I  attend  a  facility for  therapy for  a  Mental  illness  And  the age group  is not so  much  older people  But  younger people coming  in  And  getting therapy  and  on  medications

What's  causing  it , People  not being accepted by  peers  at  school ? Parents  separating  and divorcing ? Abuse  by  parents ? Too much pressure  from  peers  and teachers plus home life ? Deaths  due to  loved ones? Unemployment and /or  lack of  income? High School sweethearts  breaking it off after many years being  together?

All  I  can say  is  this  is  a sad  situation  to see  these  people , having  to  tolerate  these situations  at  such a  early age of  life , My heart goes  out  to these people, What's  your  opinions  concerning  these  situations?

This is because mental illness is not so much left in the closet like it used to be years ago.  More is known about several different mental illnessess.  More people are educated about such.  Also, with shows like Dr. Phil, etc.  the public is becoming more aware of these types of illnessess that can destroy someones life if not treated properly for them.  However, my fear is, that these illnessess are being diagnosed without the illness really being present.  Most mental illness is a genetic factor not only psychological.  Both physical and psychological tendencies must be present before a diagnosis of mental illness can be given.  Unfortunately with insurance companies being so strict and mangaed care doctors have to write down something on the insurance forms in order to get paid.  In my opinion if the mental illness is caught at an early age the better.  However, mental illnessess like Depression, Schizophrenia and Bipolar are life long physically based illnessess.  The only hope for those illnessess is better medication to control them.

I suspect part of it is that the stress and pressure of modern life has become greatly more complex, and parenting has become so poor. Sitting in the living room for an hour watching a TV show is NOT quality time.

Children are subjected to so many factors worth mentioning here, such as parents breaking up, abuse by one of the parent, exposure to unruly friends because of neglect by parent, taking strong drug and addiction etc.If these factors are corrected it be a thing of past.

Adolescents are statistically the highest group for suicides.  Because adolescence manifest mental illness differently then an adult, it is often missed or misidiagnosed.  Furthermore, when they are having problems they are often diagnosed with a behavioral disorder and end up falling into the juvenile corrections system and not getting the help they need.

Children were created to learn through playing. Their primary way of discovering their world is through unstructured, creative, imaginatve play.Running, jumping, makebelieve, ect. Now adays you never see kids playing outside. Parents are so afraid to let their kids out of their site that they are making them paranoid and fearful. There is also no "discovery". Kids are fed the answers to life even when they are to young to understand the answers. Computers, television and movies, not to mention the news, bring images of violence, sex, disasters ects to them on a daily basis. The goal of adolescents is to discover who you are, what your identity is. How can anyone do that when the media is constantly telling you how you should look, feel, want ect.

Children need limits, boundries, age appropriate fun and education and parents who are willing to insulate them from the constant bombardment of the outside world. They need a belief in God, parents who are willing to say NO and make them work, earn everything . The only thing they are entitled to is unconditional love, food ,shelter ,education and the freedom to play.

children have mental health problems because they are fearful, have no clue as to who they are ,can not handle disappointment and do not know the meaning of work.

Yesterday's gone and Today is going fast, Tomorrow is all we have, Until it to has passed

We live in very tumultuous, times. Adolescence is hard enough to navigate through, with all the raging hormones and insecurities. But then to have the added burden of uncertainty and the desire to be perfect and have a perfect life, (as portrayed in the movies) puts demands on adolescents like never before in history.

It's hard enough to cope in a world where perfection is expected, and yet wars and hypocrisy run rampant. Confusing is the understatement of the year. Is it no wonder teenagers today have no idea as to where their place in this world exists?

If you're not perfect, have perfect grades, perfect parents or a perfect life, then you must be a complete failure doomed to a life of nothing worthwhile. And if you don't have the money to attain that perfection it complicates things even further.

We live in a very shallow, uncaring world, where everything, (including people) is disposable. Why then do we question why the youth of today have nothing to live for? Everything is disposable and nothing is real. They have no foundation on which to stand, merely a picture of what they have been lead to believe is the real world. If I were a teenager today, I would be VERY confused.

The fantasy of life has far exceeded the reality. And reality becomes very dismal by comparison. Is it any wonder why the youth of today have nothing to live for? Is it any wonder why they choose to anesthetize themselves to their surroundings with drugs and alcohol? Not surprising at all. When reality becomes overwhelming, everyone takes the easy way out. It's much easier to be numb to the reality of what is really going on then to deal with it when it seems insurmountable. And when all else fails to alleviate the pain, death never fails.

Not only is mental illness on the rise in the young, but suicide as well. It's very hard to tolerate a world you don't understand and may never understand. A world built on lies, hypocrisy and fantasy is a place no one can survive.

What about vitamin D deficiency? Vitamin D is very important to mental health and so many people in this country are deficient.
