LOL... I had a mass on my ovaries and an ovarian cancer scare 3 years ago, promting a radical hysterectomy. My mother died of ovarian cancer at the age of 42, so it was very frightening for me. All is well, but this threw me instantly into menopause, and I have been hot ever since. I asked the doc if was really necessary to remove my thermostat lol. Other than that, I have no other troublesome issues, and it has decreased over time. I elected NOT to use hormones because they are known now to be linked to breast cancer. I simply wasn't willing to trade worry for one type of cancer for worry of another. I sleep with the fan on high every night, regardless of the outside temps, and haven't taken a hot shower in 3 years...I have to keep the water cool. I do get hot at various times of the day and night but I keep telling myself... this too shall pass.
Talk to your doctor and weigh the pros and cons of HRT. If you decide it's not for you, there are a couple of natural remedies that people say help with the hot flashes. You can look them up online. I took the natural route and as I stated, it's getting better all the time.
Good luck with this one!
