Memory Hacks

My experience is that taking handwritten notes serves as a memory aide. Does typing out notes do the same thing as writing them out?

Thanks for all the fish!

I've found two articles that address a similar issue: whether handwriting or typing is more effective for young children's memory.  The researchers concluded that handwriting was superior.  You can review the articles

here and here.

In order to interact beyond one's local domain, one must communicate via the Internet. Such communication is accomplished most often, via the modality of typing...

If you wish your notes to be searchable and/or globally sharable, then handwriting will prove insufficient to the task.

Check out OLPC "one laptop per child" to see how children will interact and communicate going forward; http://www.laptop.org/laptop/interface/index.shtml

In my opinion, yes.  You can go faster and it stimulates your brain and gives you more ideas.  It's also a quick way to read the notes over.
