My experience is that taking handwritten notes serves as a memory aide. Does typing out notes do the same thing as writing them out?

If you wish your notes to be searchable and/or globally sharable, then handwriting will prove insufficient to the task.

In my opinion, yes. You can go faster and it stimulates your brain and gives you more ideas. It's also a quick way to read the notes over.
