Does your family do anything special for Memorial Day or do you really just see it as a day off? Does the fact that American troops have been in Iraq and Afghanistan make the feeling different for you on this day?

It certainly does. I really wish there was no such thing as war but wouldn't you know it - it appears to be something that has been going on since time began. I worked at a Veteran's home for some time and have seen so much. Talked to so many. This Memorial Day I went to some cook-outs and those who served in military were dressed to show they served. I also like to take this time to remember those I know who have passed.
